As Robin's life begins to spiral out of control, she decides she needs to locate her winning coloring sheet from a contest hosted by the Louisville Zoo when she was ten years old.  She embarks on an American odyssey with her mother, Bernice, going from zoo to zoo from Louisville to San Diego to get it back to get her back.

Kelly Kapp (Bernice)

Kelly Kapp is stoked (STOKED, I tell ya!) to once again be working with Derby City Playwrights.  Past roles include Angela the Vulture in St. Francis Talks to the Birds by David Ives, Lana in The Last Party by Brian Walker, and Hurley in High Tide, also by Mr. Walker and part of the 2016 DCP fest.  Much love and thanks to our awesome director Natalie Fields, our stage manager Maria Allgeier, my fellow actors Abby and Mike, and our playwright Brian.  I am very grateful to take part in this journey. 

Abby Braune (Robin)

Abby Braune is excited to be a part of On the Road with Bernice and Robin. Other favorite shows include The House of Blue Leaves (Bunny), Company (April), Reservoir Dogs (Orange), and The Last Party (Vanessa).  Abby spends the majority of her time eating snacks, playing with puppies, and getting folks out of jail. Thanks for supporting local theatre!

Mike Price (Zoo Bandit and others)

Mr. Price is excited for his first opportunity to work with Derby City Playwrights! He has worked locally with Pandora Productions in Hit the Wall, Little Colonel Playhouse in Bloody Murder and at the Alley Theater in Saucy

Jack and the Space Vixens. Across the river Mike has performed with Theatreworks of Southern Indiana in Rumors, Big River, Moon Over Buffalo, 25 th  Putnam County Spelling Bee, and their Christmas Madrigal. Mr. Price worked for 10 years with Cardinal Stage Company in Bloomington Indiana, and has a background in instructional media, video and sound design. He lives in New Albany, Indiana.

Maria Allgeier (Stage Manager)

Maria Allgeier is happy to be working with Derby City Playwrights again after stage managing High Tide in the first DCP New Play Festival in 2016. She has stage managed for many places around town including Theatre 502 and The Bard’s Town. She is currently the production manager for the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival. 

Natalie Fields (Director)

Natalie is trilled to be returning to direct for Brian Walker and Derby City Playwrights. Natalie was last scene at Stage One Family Theatre, playing Spiker in James and the Giant Peach and has appeared in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever for the past three seasons. She also coaches and teaches, having just completed her first year teaching for the Disney Musicals in Schools program. As an actress, Natalie has performed across the country and abroad, most notably at the Moscow Art Theatre. Natalie holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, having also trained with Tadashi Suzuki and the SITI Company. Favorite roles include: Elizabeth in The Crucible (Pittsburgh Public), Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (CTG) Agafya in The Marriage (MXAT),  Paulina in The Winter’s Tale (Will Geer), Nurse in Romeo and Juliet (El Portal), Sonya in Uncle Vanya (PICT), Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest. 

Brian Walker (Playwright)

Joey is excited to be getting back to the dramatic arts, Punk Snot marks his first play in 8 years (Fuck he got old). He performs comedy around the country with his improv duo Kentucky Bill, as well as in Louisville with Sketchy Stuff, Project Improv, and as a sometime guest on Kaijuesdays. He loves his wife, his dogs, and you.
